General Overseer of Jesus Unity Church International Kuje Abuja, Apostle Ishaya Gana, has cautioned Nigerians to be wary of fake prophets and pastors who are using the name of God to amass wealth.
Apostle Gana who made the assertion in a Sunday sermon delivered at the Church ultra modern auditorium in Kuje, said that the proliferation of fake prophets in Nigeria has become a major worry among genuine men and women of God.
The cleric urged Nigerians to learn to scrutinise both local and foreign clerics to avoid being misled and duped by people who are using God’s name to make money.
Elaborating further the General Overseer noted, “They are not prophets. These are the signs of end time, because Jesus said it in the bible that on the last day, many false prophet will come in my name saying, am this, but you should always pray hard so that you will not fall into their trap. Mind you, not all those who say lord, Lord shall enter the kingdom of God, but he that does the will of my father who is in heaven.”
He said Nigerians don’t need to be jumping from one prayer house to another in order for God to answer their prayers pointing out that all a Christian need to receive a miracle from God is dedication to God.
He advised those involved to give up saying will be soon be disgraced for their won evil deeds.
“There is no real man of God who can involve himself in immoral activities the way some fake prophets and pastors are doing. My advice to such people is to find other things to do rather than abusing the name of God,” Apostle Gana said.
While stressing the need for the media to be in the vanguard of the offensive against such prophets he said it is disappointing to see Christians flocking to churches that have abandoned the message of salvation in preference for miracles that are obtained through application of ungodly powers.
Quoting a verse from the bible, ‘by their works ye shall know them,’ the cleric buttressed his point with illustration of several Nigerians that have been deceived by such prophets.
The cleric advised Nigerians to demonstrate the love of God irrespective of their present socio-economic challenges in order to enjoy more of his faithfulness.
Apostle Gana equally used the occasion to give out bags of rice to less –privileged members of the society, adding that the gifts were not meant to win members but because it was biblical to give.
