The Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) has named Fatima Abbas Hassan as its new head, Corporate Affairs Department. Before her new position, Abbas Hassan was the manager, news and current affairs NTA Channel 5, Abuja.
A statement issued by Safiya Mohammed Kaita of the Corporate Affairs Department, NTA Headquarters said Fatima has served NTA in different capacities for over two decades in various capacities. She said the new head served as a special assistant to the President on media between 2011 and 2015 and in the same period was posted to the office of the vice president wife to project her (vice president’s wife) public image and publicize her activities of the office.
The statement read in part, “As NTA continue to gain momentum for the Change Agenda and accelerate its growth around the word finding additional ways to connect and engage with all critical stakeholders becomes even more important, Fatimah is widely admired by both high-ranking within and outside the organization and her unique perspective on the strategic intersection between communications and policy will help strengthen the NTA brand and drive value for the business.”
