Fari Replaces Obasi As IPMAN President

Engr Sanusi Abdu Fari yesterday emerged as the new president of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), in a congress that took place in Abuja.

According to a press statement signed by Chief Lawrance Kanu, Engr Fari will now run as the president of the association for the next three years. He replaced the former factional president of the association, Chief Lawson Obasi who successfully completed his 3 years in office this month.

In his inaugural speech, Engr Fari said he will uphold the constitution of the association and the collective will of all IPMAN members.

According to him, his emergence has open a new chapter of unity and progress of IPMAN, regretting that the last regime (2014-2017) remains the dark era if IPMAN in the annals’ of history. “It is the period we pray never to resurface as IPMAN wax to accomplish its objects.”

“It is my pleasure to state unequivocally with humility that the long awaited and desired peace in IPMAN has finally arrived by my emergence as the National President.”

Engr Fari said his emergence as the new IPMAN president was a desire by all peace loving marketers who believe in the 1997 constitution that made succession provision for the association.

According to him, the constitution said that at the end of the tenure of the each president, his vice will automatically succeed him as the new president, and he was the former vice president under Obasi leadership and with the termination of his (Obasi) tenure this month, automatically he (Fari) emerged the new president.

In his remark, Chief Adewonyi Kolawole from the South Western Zone expressed happiness for the emergence of the new president and assured support for his tenure.

He said in the South Western Zone of IPMAN at the moment there is nothing like faction because they have unify the association and are now speaking with one voice.

Some of the dignitaries that attended the inauguration include Alhaji Nagwogwgwo Mamman, Chairman of Shema Petroleum Ltd, Chief Adewonyi Kolawole, Chief Shaguolo James, Alhaji Isiaku Abdullahi
