A reckless bus driver (name withheld) has rammed into a shop along Mbiri road, Umunede in Delta State and allegedly crushed to death a 13-year old master Uwadiegwu fulfillment.
The incident which reports said, occurred on Sunday night, attracted several persons to scene as the teenager was allegedly killed by the driver on his way to collect his GSM phone which was under repairs after helping his mother with her business in the market.
He was said to have crushed by the bus driver who allegedly veered off the road uncontrollably. But occupant of the damaged shop, Nkpuma Ikechukwu confirmed to our reporter that the bus driver was on top speed, adding that the teenager unfortunately met his death when he could not control the situation.
Police Image Maker in the state, Mr. Andrew Aniamaka confirmed that the driver was arrested by the police in the area, adding that he is currently being detained for further investigation. In another development, a 30 year old indigene of Obiolihe community in Agbor has been arrested by members of Agbor-Ghan-Ihun for allegedly stealing tubers of yam.
The suspect (name withheld) was said to have allegedly stolen 25 tubers of yam which he loaded in three sacks from a yam barn belonging to one Chuks Ugbo in the area. Police Officers attached to Agbor Police Division who did not want their names in the print, confirmed the suspect upon interrogation, confessed to the crime, adding that he is being detained for further investigation.
Also, a 23 year old carpenter (name withheld) has been nabbed by operatives of the Agbor Gha-Ighun for allegedly breaking into an electronics store and carted away with a Plasma Television, Video.
As players, woofer speaker, confirmed the arrest of the suspect, the Vice-Chairman of the Gha-Ighun Operatives, Mr. Monday Kiyem said the suspect was arrested in his hide out on a tip-off, disclosing that on Interrogation, he confessed to the crime and was handed over to the police in the area.
