A non-governmental organizations, Fresh and Young Brains Development Initiative (FYBDI) has called on both federal and state governments to increase budgetary allocations for agriculture by 10 percent.
The founder of the organization Barr Nkiruka Nnamego stated this during an event in continuation of this year’s International Women’s Day Celebration entitled: “Be Bold for Change’ in Abuja.
The event was basically about celebrating women, giving women a voice and then using the opportunity to advocate for 10 percent allocation budget for agriculture sector.
She noted that the event brought together women across Nigeria, farmers, civil societies, business women and other stakeholders from development partners, to deliberate about empowering women to take a bold step to create positive change in the society.
“We also have the #Beboldforchange petition that we expect everyone that comes here to actually sign everybody would join in the global campaign supporting women empowerment.”
