Charter of Demand to the Chairman, Inter – Party Advisory Council (IPAC)

Women across several political parties and other stakeholders convened in Abuja to mark the 2017 International Women’s Day. As part of the activities lined up to commemorate this day, Nigerian Women’s Trust Fund in partnership with Women in Politics Forum (supported by DFID’s Voices for Change Project and the International Republican Institute) organized a caucus building and constituency engagement session for female legislators and politicians across the states.

The meeting agreed on the following as their demands:

35% affirmative action for women in political parties in the areas of

–        Party candidacy

–        Party executives

–        Party nominations

Abolish delegate system and institute Option A4

Minimize candidacy imposition

Commit to prosecuting all offenders of violence within political environments.
