Police Arrest 3 Fake Army Recruitment Officers In Imo

The Imo State Police Command has arrested three fake  army officers who specialize  in defrauding unsuspecting applicants  wishing  to join the Nigerian Army.
The suspects- Kinsley Inyang, EdetOkon   and Victor Akpan all from Akwa Ibom State were arrested  atAmakohiaUbi  in Owerri West  local government  area of the state.
The new commissioner of police in the State, Chris  OkeyEzike disclosed this  in his maiden media briefing at the Police Command Headquarters in Owerri.
According to him, investigation had revealed that the affected candidates  were ignorantly mandated  by the suspects to pay the sum of eight thousand  naira and seventy thousand naira for medical test
and recruitment/training  exercises respectively, adding that  they are currently undergoing  interrogation and would soon be charged to
court.
CP. Ezike who is the 32nd commissioner of the police in the state said that he would adopt  a high visibility  policing  method  to rid the state of all criminals and their collaborators in the state.
Professing  his determination to fight serious crimes  of armed robbery, kidnapping, cultism and other violent  crimes with renewal vigour and commitment, he noted that  arrest of suspects, rescue of kidnapped victims and recovery of fire arms/ ammunitions have been made by his men in addition to exhibits recovered. He disclosed that while 10 of the suspects were involved in kidnapping, 12 were involved in armed robbery, two in cultism, and three
for impersonation (fake army officers); just as two  got involved in  tricycle snatching, and another two in   child stealing. He said five kidnapped victims have been rescued.
