Yola Records First Rainfall In 2017

As Yola, the Adamawa State capital wears a new look preparatory to the visit of Vice President Yemi Osibanjo to the state on Thursday, the North East town and environs has recorded the first rainfall of the year.
The rain which started at about 7:30 pm Monday evening lasted for about 30 minutes thereby reducing the scorching heat being experienced in the town and heat related diseases like cerebrospinal meningitis and chicken pox in the state. There was no destruction of property as the rainfall  was not accompanied by storm.
However, herbalists and traditional medicine healers in the state took advantage to gather the first rain which is said to be vital ingredient for concoction.
Our correspondent gathered that the first rainfall of the year is useful for preparing charm to woo husbands to spinsters whose opportunities of getting married was hindered by old age, according to a herbalist who doesn’t want his name in print.
