Executive-Legislative Feud Is Fiction Created By Mischief Makers – NAF

The Northern Alternative Forum (NAF) has said there is nothing like executive-legislative feud apart from what it described as political fiction being orchestrated by certain individuals whose main objective is to frustrate the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.
Mallam Gidado Ibrahim, national chairman of the pro-democracy and good governance group which worked assiduously towards the emergence of Buhari in 2015, berated those peddling news about a frosty relationship between the two arms of government.
Speaking to journalists at the Kaduna airport on his arrival from the United Kingdom where he had been holding talks with interest groups, Ibrahim said “those creating the political fiction called executive-legislative feud are political jobbers who are bent on making a fortune by pitching key players in the Buhari-led government against the good people of Nigeria”.
He, however, urged them to use the money invested in causing the commotion to finance meaningful programmes in synergy with the economic recovery and growth plan of the Buhari administration for the benefit of the great mass of Nigerians who have demonstrated enough confidence in the change agenda of the APC government.
On insinuations that President Buhari was surrounded by a cabal of selfish individuals who are working at cross purposes with him, Ibrahim said there was no such thing in Aso Rock.
He said there are good people around the president who are working behind the scene to ensure that the president succeeds in his bid to change the economic, social and political fortunes of the country.
“Take for instance people like Sarki Abba, SA, Domestic to the president; Abdullahi Maikano (AO General) and Hameed Ali, the Customs CG. These are people of integrity with very good track records of accountability carefully selected by the president to work with him to better the lots of Nigerians. They have been working round the clock to ensure that President Buhari is not distracted from tackling corruption and insecurity. It is those whose avenues of siphoning the country’s funds have been blocked that are mischievously creating the impression that PMB’s government is in disarray”, he stated.
NAF also urged Nigerians to resist calls from devious political individuals for restructuring or disintegration of the country, saying such calls are disloyalty to the present government.
The forum’s chairman praised the people of Niger Delta for embracing federal government’s peace moves and effort to develop the region, even as he said that “they (Niger Deltans) are our brothers and I can assure them that President Buhari will never fail them.
“We need ourselves, we love our selves, we intermarry and we live together peacefully here and abroad. We have seen how the US, UK, Germany, Italy and some other parts of the world are living peacefully and developing their economy, security and political structures. We appreciate our youths who have shown that we could do better by jettisoning the idea of restiveness under Buhari’s government”, he added.
Ibrahim further noted that NAF was also active in taking stock of happenings in the oil sector to ensure that the cabal that once hijacked the sector in the name of subsidy doesn’t shortchange Nigerians again in the current dispensation.
“In the oil sector, the president has put in place a modus for best practices, both in the upstream and the downstream sector, which are guided by the best policies I have ever seen. The subsidy scam and marketing scandal have reduced by 75 per cent. We in NAF have been inspecting and taking stock of happenings in the sector and very soon, we shall be giving Nigerians update of the goings-on in that sector”, he noted.
