chapter yesterday setup a committee to reconcile aggrieved members of the party ahead of the 2019 general election.
North West geo-political zone is made up of seven states of Kaduna, Kano, Jigawa, Katsina, Kebbi, Zamfara and Sokoto.
The party, LEADERSHIP Weekend gathered, has experienced some unhealthy relationship between some party leaders, state governors and their Senators.
Speaking shortly after a meeting held in Abuja, the Chairman, North West APC Forum FCT Abuja chapter, Alhaji Idris Mohammed Moriki said the aim of the meeting was to encourage North West people to unite.
“APC answered the call to work for Nigerians and the North West in the last election and that can only be achieved if there is peace.
“This forum has decided to intervene in the myriad of crisis that bedeviled the region shortly after the elections. We have seen the problem of the APC North West and our forum in Abuja is out to address it,” Moriki said.
Moriki added that the committee that was set up will report back in two week time.
“This committee is to reconcile all the aggrieved persons in North West. With unity, we will all work to ensure that President Muhammadu Buhari is elected again in 2019 if he stands for re-election,” Moriki added.
