Diamond Bank Plc has rewarded more than 3,000 customers with over N2 billion through its Savings Xtra promo started in 2008. Product Manager, SavingsXtra promo, Mr David Otukpe, made this known in Port Harcourt recently during the launch of the season five of the promo.
“Diamond Bank SavingsXtra promo has been on for about five years now and so far the bank has rewarded over 3,000 customers with over N2 billion both in cash and house hold items. Before now, we were giving out air- conditioners and other electronics but now we have narrowed it down to cash prizes. This season alone, we have given out over N600 million to 1,019 customers. We are half way through because this season ends in September 2013,” Otukpe said.
Otukpe further said “So far we have done it for five years and we believe that as we go, it will become higher. Retail customers don’t come to you, you go to them with mouth watering rewards, and the pool of our loyal customers is growing because of these rewards. We are not tired, we are not relenting, and we want to remain generous to our loyal customers.”
He said the promo which is currently in its fifth season which would end in September 2013, has rewarded about 1.019 customers with a total of N600 million. When asked how the bank monitors how these customers who won utilise the money, Otukpe disclosed that the bank has measures put in place to monitor the activities of customers who have won to make sure the money is well invested.
“We always call our customers who had won prizes to know what they are doing with the money they won and how we can help them, this is a mass-targeted account and it is for individuals. We ensure they use the money for the right thing.”
Diamond Bank launched the Diamond SavingsXtra Reward Scheme in a bid to encourage a savings culture and also to reward customers for their loyalty. Since the rewards scheme commenced in July 2008, over 3,000 Nigerians have been rewarded with cash prizes valued at over N2 billion.
